Summary: For adults with acute low-back pain (ie, non-traumatic pain  between the lower border of the scapulae and the upper gluteal folds, of less than 2 weeks’ duration, and not associated with pain radiating below the gluteal folds), naproxen 500 mg twice daily for 10 days may be just as effective at improving pain and function as combinations of naproxen with cyclobenzaprine or naproxen with cyclobenzaprine + oxycodone/acetaminophen, but using naproxen alone may be associated with a lower rate of side effects.
